Artist Application

1. Artwork Requirements

Each accepted artist may display a maximum of 6 pieces of artwork.

• Artwork may be in any visual art medium.

• No individual artwork may exceed 30 × 40 inches.

• Artists are responsible for ensuring that their artwork is ready to be displayed upon arrival.

• Artwork should be properly prepared for hanging or display.

2. Artwork Hanging & Supplies

Artists are responsible for bringing the necessary supplies to install and display their artwork.

• Each artist must bring their own nails, hanging hardware, and tools needed to install their artwork.

• No nails, hammers, drills, tools, or hanging equipment will be provided on-site.

• Artists should arrive prepared to install their own work.

• Artists are responsible for removing their artwork and any materials used for installation at the conclusion of the event.

3. Artist Name Tag

Each accepted artist will receive one official artist name tag for the event.

• The name tag is intended to identify you as a participating artist.

• Artists are encouraged to wear their name tag throughout the event.

• Only one name tag will be provided per accepted artist.

4. Oversized Artwork

To ensure that every participating artist has adequate display space, oversized artwork is not permitted.

• The maximum artwork size is 30 × 40 inches per piece.

• Artwork exceeding 30 × 40 inches will not be permitted for display.

• Artists with multiple pieces should consider the total amount of space their artwork will require.

• If you have a special display circumstance or question regarding dimensions, please contact the Art After Dark team before the event for approval.

5. Artwork Vending & Sales

Artists are welcome to sell their artwork and merchandise during the event.

• Artists may bring one folding table for vending.

• The table may not exceed 4 feet in length.

• Artists are responsible for providing their own table, table covering, display materials, signage, payment system, and packaging.

• All artwork and merchandise should remain within the artist's designated display area.

6. Live Painting

Live painting is welcome at Art After Dark and is intended to give guests an opportunity to experience the creative process firsthand.

• Artists interested in live painting must indicate this on their application.

• Live painters may work on one canvas only during the event.

• Artists are responsible for bringing their own canvas, paints, brushes, easel, and any other supplies needed for their live painting.

• Artists should bring only the materials necessary for their live-painting setup.

• Please keep your workspace organized and ensure that paint and supplies remain within your designated area.

• Live painting setups must not interfere with guest traffic, other artists, or venue operations.

7. Submission Reviews

All artist applications are reviewed by the Art After Dark team.

Submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance into the exhibition.

• Each submission will be reviewed based on the information and artwork provided.

• Artists selected to participate will be contacted directly by the Art After Dark team.

• Accepted artists will receive additional information regarding artist fees, setup, arrival times, display assignments, event expectations, and other important details.

• Please monitor the contact information provided on your application for updates.

• Our team will reach out directly with next steps and important information leading up to the event.

Important Reminder

Please do not arrive at the venue expecting additional display equipment, hanging supplies, or tables to be provided. Artists are responsible for bringing the supplies necessary for their individual display and vending setup.
